DIY Starbucks Green Tea Frappucinno

I am absolutely in LOVE with the green tea frappuccino from Starbucks. It is my all time favorite go to drink when I need a boost of energy without the jitters or crash. The awesome thing about matcha vs. coffee when you need that energy boost is that matcha has some pretty amazing health benefits. Matcha is high in antioxidants which keep your skin looking younger and helps prevent some life-threatening ailments. One of the antioxidants matcha provides you with is EGCg, which is recognized for its cancer-fighting properties! Not only does it boost energy but it helps you relax without drowsiness! This is due to the help of   L-Theanine an amino acid that promotes the production of alpha waves in the brain and gives you energy for up to 6 hours! Matcha increases metabolism, detoxifies the body, fortifies the immune system, and improves cholesterol! It truly is an all around amazing health drink, with amazing flavor, that can easily replace your morning cup of joe. Use the recipe below to make your very own Starbucks green tea frappuccino at home! I use Minister's Morning organic, pesticide free matcha which you can purchase here.

Ingredients:

- 1 Cup of Ice
- 1 Cup of Milk (dairy, soy, almond, coconut all work)
- 3 TBS of Sugar
- 3 TSP Matcha Green Tea Powder - I got mine here: https://goo.gl/Ewg2uV- 1/4 TSP Vanilla Extract

- Whipped Topping

Get out your blender and add all of your ingredients. Start to blend on low then slowly turn up your blend speed to make sure all of the ice has been blended for a smooth consistency. Pour into your favorite cup, add whipped topping and enjoy!
